Donovan has been driven by the kind of curiosity that is only satisfied by segmenting the answer behind the answer. His search for deeper meaning and reasons behind the problems that interest him led to him achieving two research masters degrees, in Neurophysiology and Cognitive Psychology. This quest has developed a muscle memory that is able to split the details of larger problems into segmented components. 

A firm believer in a science-centric approach, Donovan leverages a solid foundation in Neuroscience, Physiology and Psychology. Focused on decoding complex biological insight into viable application, his multi-disciplinary approach makes him an expert at turning mechanistic insights and biological data into evidence-backed, high-impact strategy.

Having had a special interest in compound development, particularly within the framework of neurodegenerative disease, acted as a springboard into working with international institutions. This experience has allowed him to understand systems from a more holistic perspective. His bridge between cold science and the human element is well-walked, through experience working in brain-computer interfaces connecting science and real world application, and in researching and working as a neuro evangelist. This has given him a penchant for taking difficult ideas and presenting them in an easy to understand and digestible way, and has stretched him so far as having systemically implemented cognitive processing improvement over international multi-level language teaching models. 

His foray into the science of cosmetics has been led by his own journey with his skin. Having suffered with facial psoriasis for years, Donovan developed a deep interest in skin balance and harmony, and building integrative systemic support from the bottom up to support existing architecture, rather than on-demand superficial treatments. This has evolved his professional focus to leveraging his understanding of causal biological mechanisms to skin science and formulation strategy, emphasising skin physiology, barrier biology, neurocutaneous signaling and active ingredient harmonization in formulation and product range architecture. His ability to integrate cross-disciplinary expertise into applied product strategy allows him to build solutions grounded in scientific integrity. His priority is innovation anchored in biological insight, to ensure solutions that translate into real world relevance.
